Feed components must be broken down into absorbable units such as amino acids, sugars, and fatty acids to deliver energy and support growth. Yet, many raw materials are complex or contain anti-nutritional factors that limit natural digestibility. After digestion, nutrients must cross the intestinal membrane to be utilized by the body.
